Staying at My Retreat Hien Van felt like stepping into a preserved glimpse of rural Bac Bo life. The centuries-old house—rebuilt with red tile roofs, earthen walls, and traditional wooden interiors—exudes authenticity. Inside you'll find wooden tea tables, antique carvings, and terracotta reliefs. Mornings began with birdsong, garden views, and peaceful nostalgia in every corner.

This isn’t just a homestay—it’s a mission to preserve traditional crafts. The decor reflects Vietnamese artistry in pottery, embroidery, and carpentry created by local artisans. Plus, 60% of profits go toward supporting local women’s livelihoods. Staying here made me part of something meaningful beyond tourism.

Toki Retreat nestled by the Waveless Bay of Van Long Lagoon offers a serene sanctuary. With just 15 thoughtfully designed rooms made from wood and stone, each featuring a private balcony overlooking lush gardens or the pool, the resort instantly calms you. Soft bedding, local-style breakfast, and attentive service made my stay deeply restorative. A perfect escape for slowing down and rejuvenating.

Staying at Hai Trung Ecohost felt like becoming part of a vibrant rural community. I took gentle bike rides along bamboo‑lined lanes, visited the historic Quần Anh heritage house, and learned traditional crafts in local villages. Every moment was filled with stories and genuine connection—not just sightseeing but living with locals.

Toki Ecolodge offers a true ‘slow travel’ experience. Each room is thoughtfully designed with natural materials—wood and bamboo—with a private balcony or terrace for morning tea or sunset gazing. Dining in the on-site restaurant made with regional flavors added to the gentle pace of my stay. It felt like stepping into another, simpler world.
